Saadat Hasan Manto is considered a unique and unmatched name in Urdu short story writing, without whom the mention of this genre remains incomplete. Through his distinctive and realistic writing style, he not only created a stir in literary circles during his time but also left behind a valuable and timeless creative legacy for Urdu literature.

Born on May 11, 1912 in Ludhiana, Manto migrated to Lahore after the partition of India. He is counted among the most prominent Urdu short story writers whose works are still widely read with great interest.
