Saudi Arabia Crowned Champions of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Sub-Regional Qualifier B

LAHORE (Sports Desk): Saudi Arabia’s cricket team has won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Sub-Regional Qualifier B title after remaining unbeaten in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, by winning all five of its matches and securing a place in the next round of the Asian qualifying process.

Saudi Arabia finished the tournament with 10 points, leaving the other five participating teams behind. Osama bin Dakhil Al-Ahmadi, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Malaysia, presented the championship trophy to the victorious team.

Saudi Arabia began its campaign with a victory over Singapore before defeating hosts Malaysia. The Saudi players strengthened their hold on the title with further wins against Hong Kong and China, before concluding their unbeaten run by overcoming the Maldives.

Saudi Cricket Federation Chairman Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Mohammed Al Saud described the achievement as a major milestone for Saudi cricket. He said the victory reflected broader progress in the kingdom’s cricket infrastructure and related activities.

He added that this was Saudi Arabia’s third title in competitions organised under the Asian Cricket Council and the International Cricket Council, further strengthening the country’s sporting achievements.

Saudi Arabia will now focus on the next qualifying stage in 2027, where the team will continue its bid to secure a place in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028.
