Karachi (Pakistan News) A severe heatwave in the city has prompted health experts to advise citizens to avoid unnecessary outdoor movement.
According to medical experts, people should avoid street food and beverages, while it is recommended to drink boiled or safe filtered water.
Doctors warned that the use of unhygienic food and drinks can increase the risk of stomach diseases and various infections, especially during periods of intense heat.
Citizens have been advised to avoid going outside during peak sunlight hours from 11 am to 3 pm and to protect themselves from direct sun exposure.
Experts further recommended wearing light-colored, loose clothing, covering the head, and increasing water intake.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department said that Karachi is likely to remain hot and dry over the next 24 hours, with maximum temperatures expected to range between 37°C and 39°C.
