Islamabad (Pakistan News): The situation across the country’s power distribution companies has become critical, as the electricity crisis deepens, causing severe difficulties for citizens.
According to sources, the average power shortfall has exceeded 3,500 megawatts, leading to a significant increase in unannounced load shedding in various areas of Punjab, including Lahore.
In Lahore Electric Supply Company, the shortfall has surpassed 1,000 megawatts, further disrupting electricity supply.
Sources from the National Transmission and Dispatch Company stated that power generation is declining due to shortages of RLNG, hydropower resources, and oil. Additionally, the عدمِ اجراء of a formal load shedding schedule has contributed to the rise in unannounced outages.
According to reports, areas that were supposed to face two hours of load shedding are now experiencing outages of up to six hours, with fears that the situation may persist for the next few days.
