Shanaka Takes 4 Wickets in 4 Balls

Washington (Sports Desk): Sri Lankan fast bowler Dasun Shanaka delivered a brilliant performance in the USA’s Major League Cricket tournament, taking four wickets in four balls during the final over to lead his team Seattle Orcas to victory.

In the match played on Sunday, Dasun Shanaka produced memorable bowling against Texas Super Kings in the final over, helping Seattle Orcas secure a nine-run win.

While chasing a target of 122 runs, Texas Super Kings were at 107 runs for the loss of five wickets before the final over and needed 15 runs from the last six balls to win. Donovan Ferreira and Shubham Ranjane were at the crease.

When Dasun Shanaka started the final over, Shubham Ranjane hit a boundary on the first ball, leaving Texas needing 11 runs from five balls. A single was taken on the next delivery, but after that, the match completely changed.

Shanaka clean bowled Donovan Ferreira on the third ball, dismissed Calvin Savage through a catch at long-on on the fourth ball, while Adam Milne was caught by the wicketkeeper while attempting a big shot on the hat-trick delivery.

On the final ball, Shanaka once again displayed excellent bowling by getting Amshi de Silva caught by Shimron Hetmyer, achieving the unique feat of taking four consecutive wickets in four balls.

This was the first time in the history of Major League Cricket that a bowler had taken four consecutive wickets in four balls.
