SIFC Reforms to Save Businesses Rs460 Billion Annually

Islamabad (Commerce Desk): The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is accelerating efforts under the Ease of Doing Business Reform Programme to simplify business regulations in Pakistan, reduce compliance costs, and create an investment-friendly environment.

According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), a high-level meeting held in this regard was attended by Haroon Akhtar, the Prime Minister's Adviser on Industries and Production; Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Amjad Hussain Azad; members of the provincial cabinet; the national coordinator; and senior SIFC officials.

The meeting focused on expanding business facilitation reforms to the regional level and strengthening cooperation between federal and regional institutions.

Participants were informed that 557 regulatory reforms had been approved so far, with the private sector expected to save approximately Rs460 billion annually as a result. The reforms aim to simplify business requirements, reduce the costs of regulatory compliance, and eliminate complex procedures that hinder commercial activities.

Under the Prime Minister's directives, the SIFC is helping promote regulatory simplification and establish a business environment conducive to starting and expanding businesses, attracting investment, and achieving sustainable economic growth.

The meeting also stressed that stronger engagement with regional institutions would help expand the reforms more effectively and ensure that their benefits reach the widest possible range of businesses.

Through its coordinated government framework, the SIFC continues to integrate regulatory reforms with investment facilitation efforts to establish a simpler, more efficient, and business-friendly system across the country.
