London (Sports Desk) — A new record has been set for the most centuries scored in a single day in One-Day International (ODI) cricket.
According to details, a total of six centuries were scored across three ODI matches played yesterday, making it the highest number of ODI centuries scored in a single day.
Three of the centuries came in the match between the West Indies and India. For the West Indies, Justin Greaves scored 101 runs.
In reply, Indian captain Shubman Gill scored 110 runs, while Virat Kohli played a record-breaking unbeaten innings of 139 runs.
Two centuries were scored in the match between South Africa and Australia. South African captain Temba Bavuma scored 103 runs, while David Miller played an excellent innings of 142 runs and played an important role in his team’s victory.
In the match between England and Sri Lanka, English opener Tom Banton scored 126 runs and provided his team with a strong foundation.
The Australian and Sri Lankan teams failed to score centuries, and therefore none of their players featured in this unique record.
