Islamabad (Pakistan News) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has said that Sohail Afridi remains the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the Constitution and the law, adding that those spreading doubts and conspiratorial narratives will be defeated.
In his statement, Salman Akram Raja said that PTI’s internal unity was currently under attack by undemocratic decision-makers.
He said a narrative was being propagated that 68 members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly would make decisions as a group and that a chief minister would be chosen without the approval of PTI founder Imran Khan and the party’s political committee.
According to Salman Akram Raja, it was also being claimed that the same group had cut off contact with Sohail Afridi and his team in the final days and had paved the way for state repression, an emergency and governor’s rule.
The PTI secretary general said no conspiratorial narrative should be believed until the investigations were completed.
He further said that Junaid Akbar remained the party’s president in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and had been appointed to the position by PTI founder Imran Khan himself. In his absence, Ali Asghar Khan is serving as the province’s acting president.
Concluding his statement, Salman Akram Raja reiterated that Sohail Afridi remains the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the Constitution and the law, and that those attempting to create divisions within the party would be defeated.
