Islamabad (Commerce Desk): An important development has emerged in Pakistan’s private aviation sector, as new private airline South Air has announced the launch of its scheduled domestic flight operations from July 16, 2026.
According to the airline’s management, South Air aims to improve air connectivity between different cities of Pakistan, promote regional development, and provide passengers with safe, high-quality, and reliable travel services.
In the initial phase, South Air will begin flights between Karachi, Islamabad, and Bahawalpur, while new scheduled services from Karachi to Gwadar, Sukkur, and Rahim Yar Khan are also being introduced. These air links are expected to promote business, tourism, education, and regional connectivity.
South Air will launch its operations using modern ATR 72-600 aircraft, which are considered reliable worldwide for short and medium-distance flights due to their fuel efficiency, performance, and safety standards.
On the occasion, South Air Chief Executive Officer Nishat Fatima said that the establishment of South Air is not merely the addition of a new airline but an effort to further strengthen Pakistan’s aviation system. She said the company’s goal is to provide passengers with safe, timely, and high-quality travel facilities while connecting areas with limited air access to the national aviation network.
She further said that the company plans to expand its fleet and routes in the future to provide modern and quality air travel facilities to more cities across the country.
Meanwhile, to enhance cooperation in the tourism and hospitality sectors, South Air has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dream World Destination Hotels and Golf Course.
Under this partnership, joint travel packages, special discount offers, and various initiatives for promoting tourism will be introduced to provide passengers with a better and memorable travel experience.
