Spain Receives $50 Million Prize for World Cup Win

New York (Sports Desk): After winning the FIFA World Cup 2026 title, Spain not only achieved the honor of becoming world champions but also secured a massive financial reward.

The Spanish team, which defeated Argentina in the final played in New Jersey, received a prize of $50 million for their historic victory, a significant increase compared to the previous World Cup.

In the final match, both teams failed to score during the regulation 90 minutes, and the contest remained level during the first half of extra time. However, in the 106th minute, Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal, helping Spain become world champions again after 16 years.

Argentina, who finished as runners-up, received $33 million in prize money, while third-place England was awarded $29 million and fourth-place France received $27 million.

According to FIFA, a total prize fund of $655 million was distributed among teams at the FIFA World Cup 2026, which is significantly higher than the $440 million prize fund of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Thus, FIFA World Cup 2026 became memorable not only for thrilling matches and outstanding performances but also as the biggest World Cup in history in terms of prize money.
