Lahore (Showbiz Desk) Renowned Pakistani filmmaker and producer Syed Noor has described the experience of casting popular TikToker Jannat Mirza in his film as highly unsuccessful and “disastrous.”
In a social media–circulated interview, Syed Noor was asked about the trend of casting Instagram and TikTok personalities in films based on their online following, and how he also had an experience that did not prove successful.
In response, the filmmaker said that including Jannat Mirza in his film turned out to be a failed experiment. He stated that although the film was made with great effort, audiences still did not come to cinemas.
Syed Noor further said that perhaps the public felt that Jannat Mirza is already available daily on social media, so there was no need to go to cinemas to watch her on the big screen.
He added that in the past, film stars had a strong and dedicated audience base, and people eagerly waited for their favorite actors’ films. However, he noted that the situation has now changed. According to him, social media following alone cannot guarantee the success of any film.
