Islamabad (Commerce Desk) Federal Minister Ahad Cheema has said that the primary objective of tax reforms is to improve the business environment and promote economic growth in the country.
Chairing a meeting on tax reforms in Islamabad, he reviewed proposed tax measures and policies for the upcoming federal budget.
According to the official statement, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) team briefed participants on various proposals under consideration in the budget.
The meeting discussed measures to curb under-reporting, non-reporting, under-invoicing, tax evasion, and smuggling, while proposals to introduce digital monitoring systems and artificial intelligence (AI)-based mechanisms to improve transparency and enforcement were also considered.
