Teenage Wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist Hits Stunning Century in Pakistani School Cricket

Karachi (Sports Desk) — Teenage wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist, who scored a century in Pakistani school cricket, has become the centre of attention. Following his outstanding performance, he has also made headlines in international media.

Like legendary former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist, the young wicketkeeper-batter is a left-handed player. His performance is also gaining popularity on social media platforms.

Representing Kamran Public School in the Under-17 Championship under the Pakistan Cricket Board’s School Cricket Talent Hunt Programme, Adam Gilchrist scored 117 runs off 108 balls against Happy Palace Grammar School, Karachi.

Playing as an opener, he remained at the crease for 145 minutes and struck 11 fours during his innings.

Thanks to his 117 runs, Kamran Public School scored 297 runs for the loss of four wickets in its allotted 40 overs and won the match by 172 runs.

Cricketers born on or after September 1, 2009, are eligible to participate in this championship.

Adam Gilchrist’s mother gave him the name Adam, while his father added Gilchrist to his name because of his love for cricket.

The young cricketer says he wants to become a player like Kumar Sangakkara, who is his favourite cricketer.

Adam Gilchrist also praised the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Talent Hunt Programme, which provides players in the Under-15 and Under-17 age groups with opportunities to showcase their abilities.
