Tehran (Monitoring Desk) – Heavy security arrangements have been put in place across Tehran amid reports circulating about funeral-related preparations for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
According to foreign media reports, additional security personnel have been deployed on major roads, government buildings, and sensitive installations, while continuous patrols are being carried out across the city.
Reports also claim that authorities have announced the closure of public and private offices from Saturday to Monday, along with traffic restrictions in central areas. Airspace operations are also said to be gradually restricted, with a complete suspension reportedly expected on Monday.
The reports further state that a public viewing of a coffin has been arranged at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Grand Musalla, with large crowds participating.
However, Iranian authorities have not issued any official confirmation regarding the death or funeral of the Supreme Leader, and details circulating in media reports remain unverified.
According to the same reports, ceremonies are said to be planned across several cities including Tehran, Qom, and Mashhad, with participation expected from delegations of around 30 countries, prompting heightened security measures.
