Tehran (Monitoring Desk) — Representatives of various countries acting as intermediaries between the United States and Iran are expected to hold separate meetings and talks with both sides.
A global news agency, citing a U.S. official familiar with the negotiations, reported that representatives of intermediary countries will hold separate discussions with the United States and Iran.
According to Reuters, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Qatari mediators are currently in the United States, where discussions are expected on a revised draft of Iran’s proposed seven-day plan.
On the other hand, Iranian media, citing sources, has claimed that the Iranian delegation has no plans for direct negotiations with the United States and will not hold direct talks with U.S. officials in New York either.
According to the Iranian position, Tehran has already conveyed its proposals and conditions to Washington through the Qatari mediator and is now awaiting the U.S. response.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump had indicated the possibility of resuming negotiations with Iran, while Qatar and other intermediary countries continue diplomatic efforts to maintain indirect communication between the two countries.
