Islamabad (Commerce Desk) After the increase in petroleum product prices, the Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance has announced a rise in transport fares across the country.
Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance President Malik Shehzad Awan strongly condemned the increase in fuel prices, saying the decision has placed a heavy burden on the transport sector.
He announced a 10% increase in freight transport charges and also demanded that all motorway police and traffic police challans be abolished.
Meanwhile, public transport operators have also increased fares by 5%, with immediate effect.
Experts say the continuous rise in fuel prices may trigger a new wave of inflation in the country.
