Trump Admits Little Progress in Iran Talks, Says War Outcome Is Near

Washington (Monitoring Desk): US President Donald Trump has said that little progress is being made in negotiations with Iran and that a decision must soon be made on whether to end the talks or continue them. He said some outcome in the ongoing war with Iran would emerge soon.

In an interview with US television channel NewsNation, Trump said limited contacts were taking place with Iran, but a decision on the future of the negotiations would be made soon.

He said some people believed that significant developments concerning Iran would emerge after the US midterm elections. However, he stressed that the coming days would be important and that the situation would become clear soon.

Trump claimed that the United States was performing well in its military operations against Iran and held an advantage on both the military and financial fronts.

Meanwhile, according to a report by the US newspaper The New York Times, the United States and Israel are preparing to launch fresh attacks on Iran. The report said planning was underway for a brief but intense military operation against Iran after the US midterm elections.

According to the report, Iran’s energy facilities, nuclear sites, and missile and drone stockpiles could be among the potential targets. It also suggested that preparations involving US military assets in the Middle East could be completed by early November.

The report further stated that US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth discussed the possibility of new attacks during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The United States and Israel are also conducting military exercises in Iraqi airspace as part of preparations for potential operations.

According to US officials, new attacks could inflict further damage on Iran’s economy, although doubts remain about whether they would achieve their intended objectives. Previous attacks on Iran had contributed to increases in global energy prices and inflation.

Officials say President Trump has not yet given final approval for new attacks. Therefore, although the possibility of military action remains, it cannot be considered a definitive decision.
