Trump calls CNN reporting on Iran deal “fake news”

Washington (Monitoring Desk) — US President Donald Trump has rejected reporting by a US news outlet regarding a proposed agreement with Iran, calling it false and misleading.

In a statement posted on his social media platform, he said the agreement includes clear, strong, and detailed clauses regarding Iran’s nuclear program, and rejected claims that nuclear issues were not part of the deal.

According to him, the central focus of the agreement is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, and a comprehensive framework has been established on nuclear-related matters.

Trump further stated that the media report was contrary to reality and misrepresented the agreement, while also questioning the credibility of the media organization.

Earlier, the US president had claimed that certain steps would be taken following the agreement with Iran, although no final position has been announced by Tehran.

On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that message exchanges with the United States are ongoing, and no conclusions can be drawn until the final situation becomes clear.
