Washington (Monitoring Desk) US President Donald Trump has announced that a planned attack on Iran has been postponed at the request of Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In a statement posted on his social media platform Truth Social, the US President claimed that Iran’s government is currently facing severe internal divisions.
According to him, the Pakistani leadership requested that any strike on Iran be delayed until its leadership and representatives reach a joint consensus on proposals.
President Trump said that following this request, he has immediately instructed the US military not to proceed with the attack; however, he added that a naval blockade against Iran will remain in place and forces will stay fully prepared for any possible situation.
