Washington (Monitoring Desk): US President Donald Trump said the United States has set no deadline for bringing Iran back to the negotiating table and Washington is in no hurry to hold talks with Tehran.
Speaking to Arab media, Trump said Iran had not been given any final deadline to return to negotiations and that the US would choose the timing according to its own preference.
He claimed that the US was achieving major success, while Iran was facing difficulties due to rising inflation, economic problems and government policies.
According to Trump, both economic pressure and military action against Iran are proving effective.
It may be recalled that six months will be completed on Friday since the US began its war against Iran. Trump has repeatedly expressed hope of ending the conflict quickly, at one point suggesting it could end within four to six weeks.
In June, the United States and Iran reached a 60-day memorandum of understanding covering issues including transit through the Strait of Hormuz, easing of sanctions and negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program. However, the agreement expired earlier this month.
