Karachi (Showbiz Desk) — Renowned Pakistani actor and host Faisal Qureshi has strongly criticised parents who refuse to support their married daughters when they face injustice or abuse, saying it is incomprehensible to turn away from daughters after raising them with love simply because their marriages have failed.
While appearing as a guest on a private television programme recently, Faisal Qureshi discussed his earlier statement regarding married daughters.
The actor said he strongly opposed the mindset that parents should accept their daughters back home after marriage only when their funeral arrives. He questioned how parents could distance themselves from their daughters after raising them with so much love and care.
Faisal Qureshi said some parents know that their daughters are facing injustice or being subjected to violence, yet still say they will accept them back only as corpses.
He questioned why daughters should be allowed to reach such a situation in the first place and asked whether they were not their parents’ own children. The actor stressed that if a daughter is being mistreated, she should be brought back to her parents’ home.
