United States Signals Strong Response After Attack on Iranian Ship Amid Rising Tensions

Washington (Monitoring Desk): Donald Trump has said that he was not pleased with the reported attack on a vessel linked to Iran and that a response will be given.

Speaking to the media at the White House, the U.S. President said that Iran allegedly targeted a ship four times, with three of the attacks being successfully intercepted. He added that a response will follow and further details will be shared soon.

The incident occurred near the Strait of Hormuz, where a cargo vessel was reportedly hit by a drone attack, further escalating tensions in the region and raising concerns over the security of global maritime routes.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance warned Iran that violence would be met with force, while also stating that diplomatic channels remain open for resolving disputes.

He added that if Iran has concerns over any agreement or arrangement, it can engage directly in dialogue, but the United States will not ignore any attack.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Washington seeks peace and stability in the region but will not allow Iran to impose any fees or tolls on the use of the Strait of Hormuz.

On the other hand, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be secured through alternative routes while bypassing Iran, adding that any framework must align with international maritime provisions, otherwise parallel shipping routes could face suspension.
