Unusual Close Approach of Russian Satellites in Space

Moscow (Web Desk) — Russian military satellites have reportedly moved into an unusual and mysterious close formation in space, drawing the attention of international space observers.

According to astronomers, two Russian military satellites were observed coming extremely close to each other in orbit, with the distance between them reducing to just a few meters.

The satellites were launched by Russia’s space agency in February 2025. During recent observations, they were seen orbiting at an altitude of around 585 kilometers while approaching each other in a highly precise and coordinated manner.

A US-based space monitoring company stated that the behavior was not typical of normal orbital movement. Instead, the satellites appeared to move in a highly controlled and synchronized way, suggesting that this may not be a routine pass but a complex and possibly experimental operation.

Experts say the incident raises questions about surveillance in space and potential risks, and has sparked renewed international debate about military activities in orbit.
