Tehran (Monitoring Desk): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that ending US attacks and the naval blockade is essential to restore safe maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, during a telephone conversation with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, Abbas Araghchi said US military operations and the naval blockade must be stopped to ensure the safe movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Iranian foreign minister also briefed his German counterpart on ongoing consultations with Oman, aimed at finding an appropriate way to establish a safe maritime passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
Abbas Araghchi maintained that the main cause of the current tensions in the Strait of Hormuz is the military actions by the United States and Israel against Iran.
He said the international community should seek answers from US officials regarding the security and economic consequences resulting from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the Iranian foreign minister, ending US aggressive activities and illegal interference, including the naval blockade and violations of its commitments, is necessary to make the Strait of Hormuz safe.
