US Cannot Negotiate While Threatening Iran, Says President

Tehran (Monitoring Desk) Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that the United States cannot expect to hold negotiations with Iran while continuing its blockade and threats against the country.

According to the Iranian president, attempts to persuade Iran to negotiate while closing all routes and adopting a threatening attitude are unacceptable.

According to Al Jazeera, Masoud Pezeshkian said in his statement that the United States was putting pressure on Iran on the one hand while demanding negotiations on the other, describing this as contradictory behaviour.

Emphasising the importance of honouring agreements, the Iranian president said that agreements should not be entered into hastily. However, once an agreement has been reached, it is essential to uphold it until the end, even if one of the parties has to suffer losses.

The Iranian president’s statement comes amid ongoing tensions and diplomatic contacts between Tehran and Washington. His position indicates that Iran considers mutual trust and adherence to agreements essential for negotiations, rather than pressure and threats.

The Iranian leadership has previously expressed its concerns over US actions and agreements. However, Masoud Pezeshkian’s statement did not announce a new round of negotiations or a date for any potential agreement.
