Islamabad (Pakistan Desk): Following the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, Pakistan has become the center of global attention, as key negotiations between the two sides are scheduled to take place in Islamabad today and tomorrow.
According to sources, initial-level talks will be held today, while the crucial and decisive phase is expected on Saturday. The US delegation will be led by JD Vance, with other prominent figures including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
From the Iranian side, Abbas Araghchi and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf will participate in the negotiations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the venue to review security arrangements, while Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that the US Vice President and the delegation will be special guests of Pakistan. Meanwhile, a White House spokesperson said that sensitive matters will be discussed behind closed doors, and any agreement will be made keeping US interests in mind.
