Washington (Monitoring Desk) US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has ordered the withdrawal of 5,000 American troops from Germany.
According to international media reports, the decision comes amid growing differences with Europe. The reports state that the process of withdrawing US troops stationed in Germany will be completed within the next 6 to 12 months.
It is worth noting that earlier German Chancellor Friedrich Merz had strongly criticized the US policy regarding the Iran war, after which tensions between the two countries further increased.
