Washington (Monitoring Desk) — US Democratic Senator Chris Murphy has emphasized the need to focus on a diplomatic agreement with Iran following his recent visit to the Middle East.
In a statement on the social media platform X, Senator Chris Murphy mentioned a lengthy meeting in Qatar with Ali Al-Thawadi, the coordinator of US-Iran diplomatic contacts, and said that reaching a new diplomatic agreement with Iran is entirely possible.
Chris Murphy said the United States should prioritize a diplomatic agreement instead of launching military attacks again.
Criticizing the ongoing tensions in the region and failed peace efforts in the past, the US senator said that establishing peace through negotiations, rather than reigniting hostilities, is currently the most important and practical path.
