Washington (Sports Desk) — Washington Freedom set a new record in the 2026 Major League Cricket (MLC) Eliminator by completing the highest successful run chase in the history of T20 cricket.
In the thrilling match played in Auckland, a total of 51 sixes were hit, while, for the first time in a T20 match, three different batters scored centuries.
Batting first, MI New York posted a massive 266 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. Nicholas Pooran smashed the fastest century in Major League Cricket history, reaching his hundred in just 31 balls.
Kieron Pollard also played an explosive innings of 64 runs off 25 balls and reached the historic milestone of 1,000 sixes in his T20 career.
