WhatsApp Preparing Scheduled Message Feature

WhatsApp Preparing Scheduled Message Feature

California (Web Desk): Meta-owned messaging app WhatsApp may soon introduce a feature that allows users to automatically send messages at a predetermined date and time. The feature will enable users to schedule messages according to their convenience.

According to technology website WABetaInfo, the feature has been spotted in a new beta version of WhatsApp for Android phones, although it is currently available only to a limited number of users.

With this feature, users will be able to write a message and select the date and time for its delivery. The message will then be sent automatically at the scheduled time. The feature will be available for both individual and group chats. In addition to text messages, users will also be able to schedule links, photos, and videos.

According to the report, users will need to press and hold the send button instead of tapping it as usual to schedule a message. A window will then appear, allowing them to select the desired date and time. The option will be visible only to users for whom the feature has been enabled.

WABetaInfo reports that users will be able to schedule messages from 10 minutes to two weeks in advance. Scheduled messages will be visible on the chat information page, where users will also have the option to delete them.

The feature is currently in the testing phase, and no definitive release date has been announced for its availability to all users. Therefore, it remains unclear when the feature will be rolled out to the general public.
