Women’s T20 World Cup Warm-Up: Scotland Defeat Pakistan by 41 Runs

Derby (Sports Desk): In a Women’s T20 World Cup warm-up match, the Scotland women’s team defeated Pakistan women’s team by 41 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.

Batting first, Scotland scored 187 for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted overs. Captain Kathryn Bryce played a brilliant innings, scoring 94 runs off just 43 balls, including 11 fours and 3 sixes, while Darcy Carter contributed 45 runs.

For Pakistan, Sadia Iqbal, Tasmia Rubab, and Ayesha Zafar took one wicket each.

In reply, Pakistan women had reached 62 for 5 in 9 overs when rain interrupted play and the match could not resume.

Later, Scotland were declared winners under the DLS method. Earlier, Sri Lanka women had also defeated Pakistan in a warm-up match.

Pakistan women’s team will play their first World Cup match against India on June 14.
