Lahore (Sports Desk) — The National Women’s Under-19 Tournament will begin in Karachi on August 20 as part of preparations for the Women’s Under-19 Asia Cup and World Cup, and will continue until September 4.
Five teams — Conquerors, Challengers, Strikers, Stars and Invincibles — will participate in the event. A total of 75 Under-19 women cricketers will take part in the tournament, which will be played at two different grounds in Karachi.
Fiza Fayyaz, Komal Khan, Sami Afser, Ruwail Farhan and Zoufishan Ayaz will captain the five teams.
The first 10 matches of the tournament will be played in a 30-over format, while the final 10 matches and the final will be played in the T20 format.
Each team will play eight matches, with the top two teams on the points table facing each other in the final. The winning team will receive a prize of Rs1 million, while the runners-up will receive Rs750,000.
The tournament will play an important role in preparing the Pakistan Women’s Under-19 team for the Asia Cup and Under-19 World Cup.
