World Cup Ticket Prices Drop After U.S. and Portugal Exit

Los Angeles (Sports Desk): Before the FIFA World Cup quarter-final stage, the elimination of the United States and Portugal from the tournament has significantly affected the secondary ticket market, where prices for several major matches have fallen by more than half.

According to reports, the lowest-priced ticket for Friday's quarter-final in Los Angeles has dropped from around $2,950 to $1,200.

The decline in ticket prices came after the United States suffered defeat against Belgium, while Spain defeated Portugal, bringing Cristiano Ronaldo's World Cup journey to an end.

Experts say that if the United States and Portugal had faced each other in the quarter-finals, demand and ticket prices for the match would have been much higher.

Meanwhile, the France versus Morocco quarter-final is being considered a relatively lower-priced fixture at this stage, with initial tickets available for around $989.

Similarly, the starting price of tickets for the World Cup final scheduled to be held in New Jersey on July 19 has reached $9,346. However, further changes in prices are expected depending on the teams that qualify for the final.

According to the report, the average prices of quarter-final match tickets have declined significantly over the past few days, while the number of tickets available for sale has increased.
