World’s First Fully Automated Robotic Pharmacy Launched

New York (Web Desk): Q, a new robotics company based in California, has introduced the world’s first fully automated robotic pharmacy, designed to automate all stages of receiving, verifying, packaging, and delivering medicines.

The advanced system receives original sealed packages from medicine distribution companies and, after verifying prescriptions, prepares and delivers medicines to patients with minimal human involvement.

According to the company, the purpose of this technology is to reduce administrative costs for pharmacies, improve accuracy in medicine delivery, and establish automated pharmacy centers closer to patients to enhance access to essential medicines.

According to a report by a technology website, the company has also secured an investment of $12.6 million to accelerate the development and installation process of this system.

The robotic system performs the complete medicine delivery process automatically. It includes all stages from receiving original medicine packages to their identification, counting, storage, preparation according to prescriptions, and final verification.

Compared with traditional automated pharmacy systems, Q’s system integrates various stages of medicine preparation, verification, and distribution into a unified automated process. It uses robotic technology, computer vision, and advanced automation systems to prepare accurate medicine packages for patients.

The system currently supports 250 of the most commonly prescribed medicines in the United States, allowing it to cover a large portion of daily prescriptions. It also includes several safety measures that help reduce errors in medicine delivery and maintain quality standards.

The company claims that the robotic pharmacy has the potential to reduce prescription preparation costs by up to 96 percent compared with traditional pharmacy systems.

This modular system has been designed for retail pharmacies, hospitals, medical centers, and healthcare facilities in rural areas, enabling medicine delivery closer to patients without relying on the traditional staffing model.
