YouTube Tightens Monetization Rules for Low-Quality Content

California (Web Desk) — Video-sharing platform YouTube has announced major changes to its monetization policy to discourage low-quality, non-original, and repetitive content.

Under the new policy, YouTube will take action against content it considers low-quality, ineffective, or unsatisfactory for viewers. The move is aimed at reducing the spread of artificial, copied, or formula-based videos.

According to YouTube, videos that copy other creators’ content, repeatedly use the same tactics to attract attention, rely on engagement bait, or follow repetitive templates instead of offering original creativity may become ineligible for monetization.

The company clarified that greater priority will now be given to channels producing original, unique, and high-quality content, while monetization may be affected for generic or template-based videos created primarily to generate more views, reach, or engagement.

Under the updated guidelines, videos that use excessive emotional manipulation, artificial presentation, or highly repetitive formats to attract viewers may also be considered in violation of the monetization policy.
