CALIFORNIA (Web Desk): Video-sharing platform YouTube has further strengthened and clarified its policies regarding artificial intelligence (AI)-generated videos, announcing stricter measures to discourage low-quality, spam, and harmful content.
According to the company, the latest update is not intended to ban the use of AI tools but to identify videos that repeatedly recycle the same content or involve the large-scale upload of low-quality material with negative impacts.
YouTube clarified that such videos will not necessarily be removed from the platform. However, they will not be eligible for monetization and will not be prominently featured in users’ recommendations.
The company stated that creators must prioritize quality, context, and originality when producing videos. YouTube aims to clearly distinguish between useful, high-quality AI-generated content and spam-like videos.
According to YouTube, spam videos refer to content that is uploaded repeatedly in large volumes without a clear purpose or acceptable quality.
The company further said that the use of AI technology is acceptable, provided that the creator’s own unique and genuine creative contribution is clearly reflected in the videos.
YouTube added that the recent update is not a new restriction but rather a clarification of its existing policies, ensuring that users and creators do not face unexpected enforcement actions or sudden crackdowns.
