Nagoya (Sports Desk) — The quarterfinal lineup for the men’s cricket event at the Asian Games has been completed, with Pakistan and India set to take the field tomorrow.
In Group A, the match between Nepal and Japan could not be completed due to rain, resulting in Nepal and Afghanistan qualifying for the quarterfinals, while hosts Japan were eliminated from the event. Nepal had earlier defeated Afghanistan.
In Group B, the match between Malaysia and Oman also could not begin due to rain, with not even a single ball being bowled. Malaysia and Hong Kong subsequently qualified for the next stage.
In the quarterfinals, Pakistan will face Hong Kong at 5 a.m. on September 28, while India and Afghanistan will meet at 10 a.m.
On September 29, Sri Lanka will face Nepal at 5 a.m., while Bangladesh and Malaysia will meet at 10 a.m.
