Attacks Continue in Lebanon Despite Ceasefire, UN Issues Warning

New York (Monitoring Desk): The United Nations humanitarian agency has said that attacks on civilians and aid workers continue in Lebanon despite a ceasefire that has been in place for nearly a month.

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA), at least 8 people, including 2 children, were killed in drone strikes in the Jezzine area south of Beirut.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that since March 2, the ongoing escalation has resulted in 2,896 deaths and more than 8,000 injuries.

The United Nations stated that due to the worsening security situation, the number of displaced people continues to rise, with around 130,000 people currently sheltering in 632 refuge centers.

The agency warned that destroyed infrastructure, unexploded ordnance, and debris across southern Lebanon and other areas are severely hindering relief operations, making it impossible for displaced people to return safely.
