Gaza (Monitoring Desk) Israeli forces have reportedly surrounded several ships carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza.
According to the Global Sumud Flotilla, their vessels were intercepted in international waters by Israeli military boats, which they claim was an illegal action. The organization also alleged that crew members were threatened with abduction and violence.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, the group said contact has been lost with 11 ships, while Israeli media reported that 7 vessels have been intercepted.
The statement further called on international governments to urgently intervene to ensure the protection of the flotilla and hold Israel accountable for alleged violations of international law and actions against the Palestinian population.
The flotilla concluded its message with the appeal: “Protect the flotilla, end the blockade, free Palestine.”
