Washington (Monitoring Desk) – The US CENTCOM has presented possible military options against Iran to Trump. The Commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Admiral Brad Cooper, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Caine, have briefed President Donald Trump on new options regarding possible military operations against Iran.
According to Turkish media, US media reports stated that various military plans against Iran were presented during the briefing held in the Situation Room.
The report states that if President Trump decides on military action, one option includes a short but intense wave of airstrikes, in which Iran’s military assets, leadership, and infrastructure could be targeted.
It further said that three major options under consideration also include the deployment of US ground forces on small islands around the Strait of Hormuz, aimed at reopening the key maritime route.
Under a second option, the proposal includes sending US special forces to the Isfahan region to remove Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles, while the third option suggests large-scale aerial and military strikes.
According to reports, the Pentagon is also considering the deployment of advanced weapons, including the Dark Eagle hypersonic missile, which has the capability to strike targets up to 3,000 kilometers away. In addition, the presence of B-1B bombers in the region is also being increased.
