Headline: US Considers Hypersonic Missile Deployment Amid Iran Tensions, Dark Eagle System Planned for Middle East

Washington (Monitoring Desk) The United States is reportedly considering the deployment of a long-range hypersonic missile system under a new defensive strategy against Iran.

According to American media reports, the US Central Command (US Central Command) has requested the deployment of the “Dark Eagle” missile system to the Middle East, with the stated objective of targeting Iranian missile launchers located deep inside the country.

Reports suggest this would be the first time the United States considers operational deployment of a hypersonic missile system in a regional theatre. The Dark Eagle program is still not fully operational and has faced delays.

Sources indicate that Russia and China have already made significant advancements in hypersonic technology. The US move is reportedly driven by concerns that Iran has shifted its missile launch systems beyond the range of conventional strike capabilities.

The report also claims Iranian missiles are capable of hitting targets beyond 300 miles, while the US request has not yet been officially made public. US Central Command declined to comment on the matter.

The Dark Eagle missile is reported to have a range of more than 1,725 miles and can travel at speeds up to five times the speed of sound, with the ability to change trajectory and evade defense systems.

Each missile is estimated to cost around $15 million, while a full battery system may cost up to $2.7 billion.
