Tehran (Monitoring Desk): Iran has reportedly made a new diplomatic proposal to the United States aimed at ending ongoing tensions and restoring operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to a report by an American news agency, citing a U.S. official and sources familiar with the matter, Iran has proposed an initial step involving the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and progress toward a ceasefire.
The report further states that the Iranian proposal also includes delaying nuclear negotiations to a later stage, while focusing first on de-escalation of tensions.
Sources say the message was conveyed to the United States through mediation via Pakistan, which is currently playing a role in facilitating diplomatic contacts between the two sides.
Diplomatic circles suggest that if progress is made on these proposals, it could help reduce regional tensions and pave the way for stability in global energy markets.
