Karachi (Pakistan News) — The matter of supplying an additional 200 million gallons of water to Karachi from Hub Dam has come to a standstill due to delays.
According to details, the demand by the Sindh government for additional water supply has been rejected, which has halted progress on the project.
Officials of WAPDA stated that increasing or decreasing the water quota from Hub Dam does not fall under WAPDA’s direct jurisdiction, and any decision in this regard can only be made after institutional consultations.
Officials further said that any increase in water supply from Hub Dam requires consultation with the Government of Balochistan.
WAPDA has advised the Sindh government to raise the issue in the Ministry of Water Resources and the Council of Common Interests so that a formal decision can be made.
