Police Officer Suspended in Anmol Alias Pinky Case, Anti-Drug Action Continues: Sharjeel Memon

Karachi (Pakistan News) — Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the arrest of drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky should be appreciated, as operations against drugs are being intensified.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, he said that action has been taken against police personnel who showed negligence during court appearance proceedings, and they have been suspended.

According to Sharjeel Inam Memon, the government is taking serious steps for the elimination of drugs, and all institutions must play their role in this campaign.

He said that some shortcomings were observed during police action in the case, but the concerned authorities took immediate notice and suspended the officials involved.

On the other hand, while speaking about ongoing development projects in Karachi, he said that Shahrah-e-Bhutto will be fully opened this month, which will directly connect with Motorway M-9 and help reduce traffic issues.

He further said that construction of bridges, underpasses, and roads is underway in the city, while a new road is also being built from Karachi Port to Qayyumabad.

According to him, citizens faced difficulties during various development projects including the Red Line BRT project, for which he apologized.

He also informed that preparations are underway to install a desalination plant in Karachi with the cooperation of Chinese companies, which will help address the city’s water shortage.
