Islamabad (Pakistan News) — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the world recognizes Pakistan as a responsible nuclear power and that the country’s defense and strategic role is extremely important.
Addressing a meeting of the federal cabinet, he said that the success of “Ma’arka-e-Haq” was celebrated by the entire nation with enthusiasm and passion, and ceremonies were held across the country in this regard.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the entire nation stood united on this occasion, while the armed forces gave the enemy a lesson that will always be remembered.
He said that May 28 is approaching, the historic day when Pakistan became a nuclear power, and it is part of the national narrative that Pakistan’s nuclear assets are only for defense purposes.
The Prime Minister said that various governments, politicians, and engineers played an important role in making Pakistan a nuclear power, while former prime ministers Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif played key roles in laying the foundation and completion of the program.
He paid tribute to all national heroes, saying that Pakistan’s current goal is to become an economic power, and the government is continuously working in this direction.
According to Shehbaz Sharif, economic conditions were also affected due to regional tensions over the past one and a half months, but the government is taking steps to deal with the challenges.
He said that security forces and the public are making sacrifices for the elimination of terrorism, while prayers were also offered for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs in the recent meeting.
