New York (Monitoring Desk) During a meeting held at the headquarters of the United Nations Headquarters, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called for urgent global action to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and to advance the two-state solution.
Addressing the meeting, the Turkish ambassador to the United Nations Turkey’s ambassador to the United Nations said that due to continued violence and political deadlock, the Palestinian issue has entered a highly critical phase.
He said that practical steps are more necessary than ever to resolve the Palestinian issue and the ongoing crises in the Middle East, as these problems are having deep impacts on global peace and security.
The meeting focused on the current situation in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, and was attended by several member states of the United Nations Security Council, including the United Kingdom and France.
