Pakistan Considers Building Cricket Stadium in Saudi Arabia, Possible PSL Matches in Jeddah

Islamabad (Sports Desk) The Pakistan Cricket Board has begun reviewing the possibility of constructing a cricket stadium in Saudi Arabia and hosting Pakistan Super League matches in Jeddah in the future.

According to details, the board has initially obtained approval from its governing body; however, further progress is still required on final agreements and administrative matters.

Sources said that the PCB is deeply interested in promoting cricket in Saudi Arabia, where a large number of Pakistani and other Asian communities reside and have a strong passion for the sport. The Saudi government is also actively encouraging sports activities in the country.

The board has expressed its desire to build a modern cricket stadium in Jeddah, and in a recent meeting, there was also a principle-level approval for cooperation with the Saudi Cricket Federation on this project.

Sources added that different locations are being reviewed for the stadium, and the project is still in its early stages. If discussions with local authorities are successful, an agreement will be signed, after which construction work will begin.

It is also reported that if all phases are completed on time, a modern floodlit cricket stadium could be ready within a year, with adequate seating capacity for spectators.

In the future, the stadium may also be used for Pakistan Super League and other international and domestic matches, which would not only allow fans to watch cricket live but also create new opportunities for young players.
