Pakistan Stock Market witnesses sharp decline, KSE-100 Index falls by thousands of points

Karachi (Commerce Desk): The stock market witnessed a sharp decline on the first day of the business week, triggering concern among investors.

The KSE-100 Index recorded a massive drop of 3,293 points, bringing the index down to 170,646 points.

On the last working day of the previous week, the market had closed at 173,939 points, but at the start of the new week, strong pressure pushed the market sharply downward.

Meanwhile, in the interbank market, the US dollar depreciated by 22 paisas, after which it was being traded at 278.70 rupees.

According to economic experts, fluctuations in the stock market are generally influenced by domestic and global economic conditions, investor confidence, and financial policies, while even minor changes in the currency market reflect broader economic trends.
