Pakistan writes letter to UN against India, demands restoration of Indus Waters Treaty

Islamabad (Pakistan News) Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations has submitted a letter against India, demanding the full restoration of the Indus Waters Treaty.

The letter expressed serious concerns over India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, stating that the move could pose a threat to regional peace.

Pakistan has urged the UN Security Council to intervene in the matter and called for India to be bound to fulfill its international obligations.

According to the Pakistani envoy, the letter was submitted on the instructions of the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and was handed over to the President of the UN General Assembly.

The letter further stated that Indian propaganda against Pakistan’s mediation efforts is baseless. It also described the Jammu and Kashmir issue as the main cause of instability in the region and said that a lasting peace requires a resolution of the dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
