Power Outage in Adiala Jail and Red Zone Closure Affect Court Hearings, Multiple Cases Delayed

Rawalpindi (Pakistan News): Due to a power outage at Adiala Jail, accused persons could not be produced before courts through video link, resulting in delays in the hearings of several cases.

According to details, the accused were scheduled to be presented via video link today; however, due to technical issues and the deployment of police personnel on other duties, the appearances could not be carried out.

Meanwhile, due to the closure of the Red Zone, the Islamabad High Court reopened after 12 days, where court proceedings resumed following a long break.

Sources said that judicial work was significantly affected during the past 12 days, causing hundreds of cases to be postponed and increasing the backlog in the judicial system.

Reports indicate that important hearings, including sensitive cases, could not be conducted last week, which further impacted court operations.

Court sources stated that after the restoration of normal proceedings, efforts are being made to dispose of the pending cases at the earliest.
